A Shy Girl

Today I took part in a summer party of a nursery with my wife and daughter.
今日、私は、妻と娘とともに託児所の夏祭りに参加しました。
I heard that my daughter had been practicing a dance for the party, so I brought a video camera.
娘が祭りに向けて踊りの練習をしていたと聞いたので、ビデオカメラを持っていきました。
The children's dance began.
子どもたちによる踊りが始まりました。
However, far from dancing well, my daughter didn't move at all.
しかし、うまく踊るどころか、私の娘は全く動きませんでした。
She just kept on standing by her mother and didn't join other children.
ただ母親のそばに立ち続け、他の子どもたちに加わりませんでした。
The scene was the same as the last year's summer party.
その光景は、昨年の夏祭りと同じでした。
After the party, I asked her why she didn't dance.
祭りの後、私はなぜ踊らなかったのかを娘に聞きました。
She answered, "Because there were too many people."
彼女は「たくさん人がいたので」と答えました。
She was very shy.
彼女はとてもシャイなようです。
